Today I took the boys to our local “u pick” blueberry patch to gather some tasty delights! They were surprised to learn that blueberries grow on bushes - not plants like the strawberries they picked earlier this season! :-)
They picked for about 15 minutes before even asking to try one. I was impressed! Once I gave permission to try “just a couple” I started catching them bingeing here and there. Had to make sure and ask the farmer to add a snacking charge to our total!
We had so much fun and there were oh, so many berries! The boys were arguing over who was the “best farmer” so I took the opportunity to motivate them by saying the boy with more berries in his bucket than in his belly would be the best farmer! ;-) I heard a lot more ”plunks” in the buckets after that!
Of course once we were done the boys were oooh-ing and ahhh-ing over how full my bucket was! As soon as we got home I made Blueberry Crumble Bars and Blueberry Muffins with plenty Of berries left over for snacking! ☺️
