This year was our first official "Fall Break"! Even though our work schedules are flexible now that Superman and I both work from home, we wanted to plan our last vacation of the year around Kasen's Fall Break. Thankfully our school district is a week later than most everyone else so the crowds and traffic weren't bad at all!!

We drove down to a resort near Panama City Beach and stayed right on the beach. It was so nice to not...

We can't sit still for long without planning some kind of a trip. Even when we insist on relaxing and staying home, being like "normal" people - we still end up picking up and doing some last minute adventure or traveling somewhere spur of the moment.

This time we knew we had a long weekend planned for fourth of July but just couldn't decide on where to go! We booked everything for Florida and then about a week before leaving c...

Whether you're staying in the U.S. or traveling out of the country, there's always the issue of safety when traveling with kids. We taken our boys to over 5 different countries so far and while I'm not overly paranoid, I've watched my share of true crime shows and am fully aware that we're not surrounded by saints. At the same time, the Bible clearly says He gives His angels charge concerning us, to guard us in all our ways. W...

Cruising is a wonderful way to explore the islands. Sure, you don’t get to really saturate yourself in the culture, but even if you’re not big into the idea of cruising it’s a great way to visit a lot of places in a short amount of time to see where you might want to visit for a longer period of time!

We love it because it’s an easy way to travel multiple countries without having to put the kids through a dozen plane rides, tax...

After spending nearly a week total in Puerto Rico I realized that it needed it's own separate blog post! It really was like two vacations in one because we spent 4 days in Puerto Rico, then 7 days exploring the caribbean islands and then came back for 2 more days in San Juan.

We stayed in an Air bnb in the Ocean Park beach area, which was a great place to be!! Actually we were initially in a different air bnb, about 4 blocks fr...

We are down to the final moments before take off and that means suitcases are out, packed and the final things are being added as we remember them! On instagram stories a couple weeks ago y'all asked for packing details, so here they are. I have to tell you, I'm super basic! ;-)

Packing Details:

This trip we're only taking 1 checked bag and 4 carry-on bags. I totally have been using the Marie Kondo folding method for years when...

Preparing for our vacation is one of my favorite things besides the vacation itself!! From the time we decide to go, the preparation begins whether it's two weeks away or two months away, my brain kicks in high gear. So I'm going to share my little secrets about what the early stages of planning look like for me!

The obvious things are choosing the destination, booking the flight, researching hotels or air b&b's and looking at...

I'm beginning a journey of making a dress for each vacation I take throughout the year! So this is dress #1 of a brand new series! :-D

Hopefully you can ignore the major dust bunnies on my office floor (thanks to my cute moroccan rug that sheds like crazy) and focus your attention on this DRESS!! I got the pattern idea from a two piece dress I found online but the crop top alone was $363 retail!! Who knows how much the skirt w...

I love long weekends :-) It usually gives us an excuse to plan a getaway and we were SO ready for one this past Labor Day weekend!! First we hit Panama City beach to visit family, then we were off to Brooksville, Florida to visit Pop and Darlin' and spend some time in Dudedin, FL on Honeymoon Island.

I’d like to think I’m not a picky vacationer, just give me a semi-private beach and some tanning lotion, I’m all set. But then a...

A couple weeks ago I went on a little adventure, touring three of our local Nashville flower farms! It was amazing to see where these beautiful arrangements come from and meet the growers. I have so much more respect for the locally grown bouquets after seeing all the work that goes into bringing each flower to the vase!

Green Door Gourmet is in West Nashville is a great place to take the family! Sylvia's farm started out prett...
